In essence, fire extinguishers are one of the greatest investments in your home for its’ accessibility. Although, we often see them in commercial spaces, places where it is required to have a fire extinguisher. Despite its importance, not many homeowners feels the need to invest on these life-saving tools.

In this day and age, it is important to be ready for accidents and tragedies that may come our way. According from a research from the United States, 80% of all fire accidents can be solved by a portable fire extinguisher; that is to say that because it can be easily used because of its’ compact size, it is easier for us to manipulate and put out fires.

How to use Fire Extinguishers

In using a Fire Extinguisher, make sure you know the word PASS.

Pull – Pull the safety pin from the top of the extinguisher and breaking the seal.
Aim – Aim the nozzle at the fire at a safe distance
Squeeze – Squeeze the handle to release the extingusihing agent inside
Sweep – Sweep from side to side as you slowly approach the source of fire to put out the main source of the fire.
