Manila FAME 2019: Experience World-Class Design and Lifestyle Products from Philippines’ finest
Manila FAME’s main goal is to showcase the craftsmanship and heritage of the Filipino people. “It is in this context that Manila FAME seeks to define the heritage of Philippine design showcased through its platform by pushing the imagination of designers and manufacturers to new heights.” As years go by, the design and craftsmanship evolve and change which creates innovative and beautiful creations. Reinvention of iconic designs have been the focus of this years Manila FAME and for the viewers to see the past with “fresh eyes.”
Manila FAME 2019’s Event Highlights
Manila FAME curated several exhibits that features different designers and manufacturers. From gorgeous furniture to phenomenal dresses, Filipino artists have outdid themselves this year, not just in creating products but also creating booths and art shows that embodies their message and their craft.
The Design Commune
The Design Commune is one of the main exhibition space in the show “that showcases products from Manila FAME’s merchandise development program. This program aims to nurture a community of creative prime movers and inspire collaborations between designers and manufacturers.” This exhibition is led by Creative Director Vince Uy, and welcomes 57 participating companies with 350 newly developed products between them and the Design Commune’s veteran product development team composed of Stanley Ruiz (Home & Lighting), Nix Alañon (Furniture), André Chang (Fashion) and introducing junior product specialists Kitty Bunag and Mia de Lara (Home).

Introduces MSME, Artisan Village features local micro, small and medium enterprise and their crafts to the global market with the help of the DTI Regional Offices, Local Government Units (LGUs), and the Design Center of the Philippines. This showcase features exhibitors from Antique and Marawi with products that “highlight each province’s distinctive local crafts and weaving traditions to portray their cultural identities and a sense of place deeply rooted in their histories. Live demonstrations of how native materials are processed, crafted and fashioned into end products will also be featured.”
To bring back the online fashion marketplace trade show floor, Fashion E-Tailers will feature the country’s rising fashion entrepreneurs and designer commercial brands as they showcase the latest trends in fashion.
