Sunshine Fort: First-ever Japanese-inspired Condominium In BGC Set To Rise By 2025
Japan’s leading residential developer, Nomura Real Estate Development Co. Ltd., along with Japanese giant retail service group Isetan Mitsukoshi Holding Ltd., announced its partnership with George-Ty led real estate company Federal Land Inc. (FLI) to construct the first ever P20-billion Japanese-inspired condominium in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) by 2025.
Tokyo-based real estate developer, Nomura disclosed this joint-venture project in the third quarter of 2017 citing that the country’s bullish economy is the driving force of their decision to invest.
First Japanese-inspired condominium in BGC
Sunshine Fort is pitched to be the trendsetter of Japanese-themed residential and retail complex in the country. The mixed-used development has begun its construction earlier this 2018 and is listed to operate and open to the general public by 2025.
This Japanese-inspired condominium in BGC is erected on a 1.5-hectare area within Federal Land’s 10-hectare Grand Central Park development in BGC, right next to the Grand Hyatt Hotel. Sunshine Fort is designed to have four residential towers called The Seasons Residences with 41 to 51 floors each and a total of 1,395 residential units. The interior and exterior of the establishment will showcase Japanese aesthetics in the form of efficiency, functionality and style.
GT Capital Holdings Inc. has been pioneering Japanese technology, designs and principles throughout the country with their various business ventures such as Metrobank Group, Toyota Motor Philippines and Federal Land Inc. This time, their partnership with Japanese real estate and retail giants, Nomura and Isetan Mitsukoshi will fuse notable Japanese concepts with the Filipino lifestyle.

The Isetan department store with a gross leasable area of 25,000 square meters is imagined to exhibit luxury Japanese fashion brands, food and cosmetics. Kunio Ishizuka, Isetan Mitsukoshi former chair and current senior advisor, shared that the increase in the number of Filipino customers buying from the company’s stores in Japan is the key consideration for partnering with Nomura in this mixed-development project.
